1944 War Era Wheat Back Pennies No Mint Mark

WWII wheat pennies 1944 average circulated condition

How much are the pennies in grandmas jelly jar worth. If they've been sitting in the basement since WWII then they might be worth quite a bit. The wheat back pennies from 1944 however won't be worth much. Average circulated condition ones like those pictured above will only be worth about 10 to 15 cents each.

Hopefully if her coin jar has been sitting in that basement for over 75 years there are a lot of much older pennies than these and I would bet a lot of Indian head pennies as well. Those will be worth much more than the copper cents featured here. Some will go for hundreds of times their face value even if they are worn and dinged up.

The 1944 no mint mark war era wheat back pennies just haven't been around long enough to be really worth that much. Plus they were very heavily minted. Because of this most collectors are looking for mint condition examples.
